Suwon Launches Homeless Protection and Environmental Cleanup Initiative
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City launched a joint public-private-police homeless protection and environmental cleanup initiative in the Suwon Station area on the 28th.
Representatives from 17 related organizations participated, including the city, Suwon West Police Station, Suwon Fresh Start Comprehensive Support Center for the Homeless, and Paldal-gu Health Center.
The initiative focused on conducting intensive outreach to street homeless individuals residing in vulnerable areas and provided guidance on self-reliance and self-sufficiency programs.
The teams also cleaned the Suwon Station plaza using large-scale water spray trucks and high-pressure washers, and conducted disinfection efforts for infectious disease prevention.
Baek Un-o, head of the city's Social Welfare Division, said, "We will continue to systematically support counseling and housing, medical services, and job opportunities to help homeless individuals achieve healthy reintegration into society."
