Jangan-gu Launches Forest Fire Prevention Campaign at Gwanggyo Mountain
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Jangan-gu in Suwon City (District Chief Lee Byung-gyu) launched a forest fire prevention campaign on November 1st around the Gwanggyo Mountain firefly restroom and the Sanggwanggyo-dong bus terminal as the autumn holiday season begins.
Approximately 60 people participated in the campaign, including District Chief Lee Byung-gyu, related officials, forest fire brigades, and observers, along with Suwon-i, Suwon's mascot.
Participants distributed promotional materials and conducted awareness activities for Gwanggyo Mountain protection and forest fire prevention, including ▲prohibition of illegal burning near forests ▲prohibition of smoking and carrying flammable materials when entering the mountain ▲taking trash away ▲compliance with safety rules.
District Chief Lee Byung-gyu said, "Forest fires often occur due to complacent thinking of 'It won't happen to us,'" and urged, "Please recognize the importance of forests and be careful about forest fire prevention and forest protection with the mindset of 'starting from myself.'"
