Parents Directly Inspect Childcare Centers in Osan

[Suwon Ilbo=Seo Dong-young Reporter] Osan City announced on the 11th that it completed parent monitoring projects at 92 childcare centers, representing 35% of childcare facilities in the city.

The city openly recruited parent committee members and expert committee members in March this year targeting parents of infants and toddlers using childcare centers. Following capacity-building training and fieldwork, committee members conducted parent monitoring from May to October on four areas and 20 indicators—health management, safety management, meal management, and sanitation management—at childcare centers throughout the city.

72 facilities, representing 78% of target childcare centers, received excellent institutional grades. The city required childcare centers to review monitoring results during their next management committee meetings and notify parents of the results.

The city plans to continue supporting childcare centers through parent monitoring and consulting next year.
