Paldal-gu to Levy Vehicle Taxes in December

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Paldal-gu in Suwon announced it plans to levy vehicle taxes of 6.176 billion won on 36,187 vehicles in December.

Taxpayers are vehicle owners registered in the vehicle registration ledger as of December 1, 2019. Taxable vehicles include those registered in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Management Act, two-wheeled vehicles exceeding 125cc, and dump trucks and concrete mixer trucks under the Construction Machinery Management Act. The tax period is from July 1 to December 31 of this year. For vehicles registered newly or transferred during this period, taxes are calculated on a pro-rata basis according to the ownership period.

Additionally, vehicles with an annual tax amount of 100,000 won or less (such as compact cars, vans, and cargo vehicles) were levied in bulk in June and will not be levied this time.

The payment period is from the 16th to the 31st of next month. If the payment deadline is missed, a 3% surcharge will be added. Direct payment via bill can be made at any bank nationwide. Without a bill, payment can also be made through unmanned payment terminals and ATMs/CD machines using one's own account, cash card, or credit card after inquiring about local taxes. Credit card payment is also available through "ARS 1899-7500," and internet payment is possible on the website Wetax (www.wetax.go.kr).
