Paldal District Selects 'Barrier-Free Integrated Playground Construction' as Top Policy Initiative of the Year

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Paldal District in Suwon has finalized five outstanding policy initiatives for 2019 representing the district for the year.

A total of 22 outstanding policy initiatives submitted from the 13th to the 22nd of this month were evaluated in two rounds across five criteria: excellence, effectiveness, creativity, ripple effect, and innovation. Five final projects were selected, consisting of one grand prize, one top excellence award, one excellence award, and two encouragement awards. The departments of selected outstanding policy initiatives are scheduled to be commended at the year-end ceremony on the 31st.

The grand prize was awarded to the District Parks and Greenery Division's 'National-scale Largest Barrier-Free Integrated Playground Construction Project.' The barrier-free integrated playground being developed in Hwaseo-dong will be the largest of its kind nationwide and operate as a human rights playground where both socially disadvantaged groups and general citizens can use it without barriers. It is scheduled to receive BF (Barrier-Free Living Environment) certification and open in May of next year.

The top excellence award goes to the District Family and Welfare Division's 'Multicultural Multi-Care Daycare Center Harmony' project, the excellence award to the District Construction Division's 'Suwon Stream Cooling Fog System' project, and the encouragement awards to행궁-dong's 'Our 行궫-dong Stories, 行궫-dong Community Plan Establishment' project and the District Economy and Transportation Division's 'Evening Hours Illegal Parking Enforcement Deferral Project'.
