[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Jangan-gu in Suwon City (District Head Lee Byung-gyu) held the '2019 Jangan-gu Environmental Family Year-end Luncheon Meeting' on the 17th to encourage environmental management staff and street cleaning vehicle drivers working in the field.
The luncheon meeting, held at a restaurant in Songdeok-dong, Jangan-gu, was attended by District Head Lee Byung-gyu, Kim Sung-bok, chairman of the Suwon City Hall Labor Union, and approximately 80 others including environmental management staff and street cleaning vehicle drivers assigned to Jangan-gu.
District Head Lee Byung-gyu stated, "I understand that your hard work is reflected in the clean streets of Jangan-gu that seem naturally clean every morning," and "I am grateful for your invisible efforts throughout the four seasons." He added, "Even in the cold winter weather, I urge you to work steadfastly with the sense of mission to protect the citizens' living environment."
Meeting participants shared difficulties they experienced while working in the field and solution know-how. They also exchanged views on the changing work environment as the start time for residential waste collection operations will be delayed by three hours from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. beginning next year.
As of December, Jangan-gu has 70 environmental management staff members cleaning main road sidewalks, back roads, and alleys, and 6 vehicle drivers operating street cleaning vehicles, waste collection vehicles, and recycling collection vehicles.
