Pyeongtaek Selected as Outstanding Institution for Basic Livelihood Guarantee

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City has been selected as an outstanding institution in the Basic Livelihood Guarantee sector for 2019.

The city announced on the 3rd that it was selected as an outstanding local government in the Basic Livelihood Guarantee sector for 2019 in connection with the government joint evaluation and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare and prize money of 7.4 million won.

The award was based on evaluation results including the Ministry of Health and Welfare's operational capacity indicators for the Basic Livelihood Guarantee system.

The city explained that the recognition resulted from systematically and faithfully managing beneficiaries across evaluation items including discovering new beneficiaries, activating local livelihood guarantee committees, preventing fraudulent welfare receipt, and conducting confirmation surveys on welfare beneficiaries.
