Yeongdeungpo-gu: Pay Regular License Registration Tax by the 31st This Month

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Yeongdeungpo-gu, Suwon has imposed regular license registration tax (license portion) of 23,345 cases totaling 983.98 million won on various permits and licenses.

The regular portion of this year's license registration tax increased by 2,278 cases and 103.31 million won (11.7%) compared to last year. The increase is primarily attributed to growth in housing rental business licenses due to various real estate environmental changes and increased telecommunications sales business licenses due to the rise in internet commerce.

Taxpayers are individuals and corporations that have obtained various licenses with addresses or business locations in Yeongdeungpo-gu as of January 1. The tax is divided into five categories based on business type and scale: Category 1 (675,000 won), Category 2 (540,000 won), Category 3 (405,000 won), Category 4 (270,000 won), and Category 5 (180,000 won).

The payment period runs from the 16th to the 31st of this month. Payment can be made through CD/ATM machines at all financial institutions nationwide, Wetax (www.wetax.go.kr), or Internet Giro (www.giro.or.kr) via bank transfer or credit (debit) card.

A district official stated, "We urge taxpayers to pay before the deadline as financial institutions may experience heavy workloads and internet access congestion near the deadline," and added, "If payment is made after the deadline, additional charges and other disadvantages will be incurred."
