[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City will activate its emergency medical care system for the Lunar New Year holiday period (February 24-27) to prepare for potential mass and emergency patient cases.

To minimize inconvenience for citizens purchasing medicines and reduce gaps in medical services, 140 hospitals and clinics, 2 public health centers, and 67 pharmacies in the city will be designated and operated on a rotating daily basis throughout the holiday. Four emergency medical institutions (Good Morning Hospital, Pyeongtaek St. Mary's Hospital, Park Ae Hospital, and Park Hospital) and three emergency medical facilities (Anjung Baek Hospital, Seongsim Central Hospital, and Songtan Central Hospital) will operate 24-hour emergency rooms.

A rapid response team comprised of 34 personnel across 3 units has been organized to respond to infectious disease patients such as pneumonia of unknown origin occurring in China and cases of mass or group diarrhea, maintaining a 24-hour emergency contact system.

An emergency medical operation center has been established to provide information about hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies open during the holiday, with two staff members stationed there daily.

Information about medical institutions and pharmacies open during the Lunar New Year holiday can be found on the Emergency Medical Portal (http://e-gen.or.kr) and the city website (http://www.pyeongtaek.go.kr). Guidance can also be obtained by calling 119, 129, or 120 without an area code.

For more details, contact Pyeongtaek Health Center (031-8024-4316), Songtan Health Center (031-8024-7220), or Anjung Health Substation (031-8024-8622).
