Ministry of Gender Equality and Family to Fully Operate Women's Emergency Hotline 1366 and Youth Counseling 1388 During Chuseok Holiday

The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (Minister Won Min-gyeong) announced that it will operate the Women's Emergency Hotline 1366, Youth Counseling 1388, and the Danuri Call Center (1577-1366) 24 hours a day during the Chuseok holiday period to provide uninterrupted public livelihood stabilization services.

Among the major public livelihood stabilization services operating during the Chuseok holiday period, major facilities (for violence victim protection and support) will operate normally 24 hours a day to protect and support violence victims quickly and without gaps.

Nineteen 1366 centers will operate 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, providing initial counseling and emergency protection for violence victims, as well as prompt connection services to shelters and victim support centers.

In addition, through the Sunflower Centers, 24-hour integrated counseling, medical, legal, and investigation services are provided to victims of sexual violence, domestic violence, and human trafficking.

Meanwhile, the Digital Sexual Crime Victim Support Center will operate normally (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) to provide systematic assistance to digital sexual crime victims, including counseling on illegal filming and distribution, support for deletion of victim videos, and investigation, legal, and medical support.

During the Chuseok holiday period, to protect at-risk youth outside the home, 139 youth shelters nationwide will normally provide counseling and living support services (food, clothing, shelter, medical support, institutional referral, etc.), and Youth Counseling 1388 will operate 24 hours.

In addition, the Family Counseling Hotline (1577-4206) for counseling on pregnancy and childbirth, single-parent families, and general family issues, as well as psychological and emotional support counseling, will operate normally. The Danuri Call Center (1577-1366) will also operate 24 hours a day to provide support in 15 languages to multicultural families and immigrant women, including counseling on couple and family conflicts and information on Korean life.

The child care service will operate normally to address childcare gaps for dual-income and single-parent families who commute during the holiday period. While a 50% surcharge is added on public holidays, to reduce the cost burden on users, the weekday rate (12,790 won per hour) will be applied during the Chuseok holiday (September 24-27).
