[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Yeongtong-gu, Suwon announced on the 3rd that it is providing an "Ancestral Land Finding Service" for residents who have difficulty identifying their ancestors' land due to negligent property management or unexpected accidents.

The "Ancestral Land Finding Service" is an administrative service that provides free inquiry results regarding the ownership of privately owned land or ancestral land registered in the land registry.

During 2019, the district processed applications from 4,832 people and provided land information for 3,565 parcels covering an area of approximately 3,872,066 square meters.

The land owner or legal heir can apply for the service at their nearest city, province, or city/county/district office by preparing their identification card and heir-proof documents such as a certified family register showing the ancestor's death record, basic certificate, and family relation certificate.

The district also provides the "Peace of Mind Inheritance One-Stop Service," which allows property inquiry for the deceased at the time of death report, as well as information on land ownership status for bankrupts or their families in relation to court bankruptcy declarations.

Ji Jun-man, head of the Comprehensive Civil Affairs Division of Yeongtong-gu, said, "Applications for the 'Ancestral Land Finding Service' increase after holidays each year, and we will make every effort to ensure residents experience no inconvenience in using the service."
