Youngtong-gu Intensifies Disinfection at Virus-Vulnerable Facilities
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Youngtong-gu (District Chief Song Young-wan) has launched intensive disinfection efforts and prevention awareness campaigns targeting vulnerable facilities to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus.
The district disinfected 100 locations on the 7th, focusing on bus stops frequently used by residents such as Gwanggyo Station and Youngtong Station. On the 10th, it disinfected daycare centers and senior community centers.
Masks were distributed to daycare center staff, Chinese-operated businesses, and construction workers, with requests to comply with prevention guidelines. The district plans to continue ongoing disinfection at daycare centers and similar facilities.
Each neighborhood office posted foreign language promotional flyers at residential areas and multi-use facilities and distributed masks to vulnerable populations. Seniors living alone are receiving prevention guidance, including hygiene management tips, through counseling phone calls.
District Chief Song Young-wan said, "We are making every effort to prevent infectious diseases so residents can live safely and comfortably," and added, "We will continue to prioritize residents' safety and concentrate administrative resources to prevent the spread of the virus to the wider community."
