Pyeongtaek City Invests 5.7 Billion Won to Support Installation of Air Pollution Prevention Facilities
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City announced on the 25th that it will push forward this year with a ‘Small-Scale Business Air Pollution Prevention Facility Installation Cost Support Project’ worth 5.7 billion won in budget (including national, provincial, and city funds) to reduce fine dust generated by air-emitting workplaces in the city.
The project is being carried out to support the improvement and installation costs of aging air pollution prevention facilities, thereby easing the burden of prevention facility installation costs stemming from the strengthening of emission permit standards and reducing fine dust generation.
Eligible recipients are workplaces with aging prevention facilities that fall under medium and small enterprises as defined by the ‘Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises’ among the air-emitting facility workplaces in the city.
Depending on the capacity of the air pollution prevention facility, subsidies of up to 270 million won (up to 450 million won for RTO, RCO, etc.) will be provided. The subsidy cost-sharing ratio is 50% national funds, 20% provincial funds, 20% city funds, and 10% self-funding, greatly reducing the burden on workplaces.
The application period runs until the 20th of next month. Applicants may apply by mail or in person to the Gyeonggi Province Environmental Preservation Association using the application form posted in the announcement. Based on the received applications, the recipients will be selected according to priority after an on-site survey and review by a deliberation committee.
