Ichuntaek Hospital in Suwon Implements Disinfection to Prevent COVID-19 Infection

[Suwon Ilbo=Park No-hun] Ichuntaek Hospital in Suwon conducted comprehensive disinfection throughout the entire hospital on the 6th. The in-house disinfection was carried out as a preventive measure to alleviate anxiety over COVID-19 infection and to prevent other infections among patients with weakened immune systems.

The disinfection, conducted through a professional quarantine contractor, dilutes disinfectant and sprays it on spaces, floors, and walls for sterilization, followed by ventilation and treatment of residual chemicals to maintain a clean hospital environment.

Ichuntaek Hospital has undertaken preemptive measures since before the large-scale outbreak of COVID-19. For all incoming patients, the hospital checks for respiratory symptoms, fever, and suspected patient status before hospital entry and confirms overseas travel history through computer inquiry. Additionally, the hospital has blocked hospital visits entirely and permits only limited guardians to enter after going through an approval process, thus preventing the possibility of nosocomial infection.
The hospital was designated as a National Relief Hospital on the 25th of last month and is strictly separating the patient flow of those suspected of having respiratory diseases from general patients.

Hospital Director Yoon Sung-hwan stated, "As a National Relief Hospital, we plan to continue high-level infection prevention activities so that patients can receive treatment with confidence," and added, "Since this is a difficult and exhausting time for everyone, we hope to become a hospital that can provide strength to patients through a warm word and dedicated care."
