(Breaking) Two COVID-19 Confirmed Cases in Giheung and Suji Districts in One Day for Yongin City (Cases No. 30 and 31)
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park No-hoon] Two COVID-19 confirmed patients (Yongin-30, 31) occurred in Giheung and Suji districts on the 22nd in a single day.
On the 22nd, Yongin City announced that Ak M. (Yongin-30), a resident of Samsung Raemian 2nd Apartment in Eonnam-dong, Giheung-gu, and Al M. (Yongin-31), a resident of Raemian East Palace 1st Complex Apartment in Dongcheon-dong, Suji-gu, tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the city, Ak received the diagnostic test at Seegene Medical Foundation, and Al received it at GC Green Cross Medical Foundation.
Ak is the spouse of Aj (Yongin-28) who tested positive the previous day, and on the 21st, a sample was collected by Giheung-gu Health Center while in self-quarantine.
Ak, a company employee, has been working from home due to company circumstances since the 14th, and it is known that no separate symptoms appeared before sample collection.
In relation to this, Aj (Yongin-28), who tested positive on the 21st, was found to have been infected by a workplace colleague (Seongnam-34), a member of Grace River Church registered as a confirmed patient at Seongnam-si Sujeong-gu Health Center.
Al, confirmed patient Yongin-31, stayed in London, UK from April 2019 through March 15 of this year, and after returning to Korea, symptoms such as nasal discharge appeared from the 18th, and a sample was collected at the Suji-gu Health Center screening clinic on the 21st.
The city immediately placed Al's parents and younger sibling, three people in total, in self-quarantine and collected samples.
Accordingly, the city transferred Ak to Gyeonggi Province Medical Center Icheon Hospital and Al to Gyeonggi Province Medical Center Suwon Hospital, and disinfected their homes and surroundings.
The city plans to identify movement routes and contacts as detailed investigation results from epidemiological investigators become available, and announce them through the city website and other channels.
As a result, the number of COVID-19 confirmed patients in Yongin City has increased to 31, of which 6 have been cleared and released from quarantine, and 186 are undergoing tests.
