"Let's Overcome COVID-19": Suwon Citizens' Donations Continue
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Warm donations from Suwon citizens to overcome COVID-19 are continuing.
On the 26th, Suwon City held a donation and care package delivery ceremony at City Hall to overcome COVID-19.
Attendees included Suwon Mayor Yeom Tae-young, Han Chang-seon, chairman of the Suwon Citizens' Medical Consumer Cooperative, Im Tae-jun, representative of Jjukkumi Saryeongbu, Kim Han-sang, director of the Seoul Cultural Heritage Research Institute, the Venerable Ji-gyeon (abbot of Bohyeonseonwon), and Pastor Lee Ji-ham of The Sarang Church.
The Suwon Citizens' Medical Consumer Cooperative handed over a donation of 10 million won. It will be used for medical support, assistance in purchasing quarantine supplies, and activities for preventing infectious diseases and disinfection.
The 1,730 packs of seasoned frozen webfoot octopus (worth 10 million won) from 'Jjukkumi Saryeongbu' (a frozen food business) will be delivered to 865 people, including COVID-19 self-isolators, medical staff, and public officials.
The 10 million won donation from the Seoul Cultural Heritage Research Institute and the 5 million won each from Bohyeonseonwon and The Sarang Church will be donated to the designated fund of the Suwon Council on Social Welfare and later handed over to vulnerable groups.
