Osan City Provides Free Masks and Hand Sanitizers to 1,300 Pregnant Women

[Suwon Ilbo=Correspondent Seo Dong-young] Osan City announced that starting from the 30th, it will distribute masks and hand sanitizers free of charge to 1,300 pregnant women in the region to prevent COVID-19.

The measure aims to protect pregnant women, whose immune systems are vulnerable, from COVID-19 infection.

Each of the 1,300 pregnant women will receive 2 replaceable cotton masks with filters, 30 mask filters, 1 hand sanitizer, and 2 health protection masks (KF94). The masks and hand sanitizers were donated by the Osan branch of NH Nonghyup Bank. Additionally, health protection masks separately secured by the city are included.

Eligible recipients are pregnant women registered at the health center. They can collect the supplies by visiting the health center and the Healthy Living Support Center (Sinjang-dong).

Upon collection, pregnant women must present their ID and either a maternal handbook or pregnancy confirmation certificate. In the case of proxy collection, the proxy must bring their own ID.

The city requested that family members pick up the supplies on behalf of high-risk group pregnant women when possible.

Osan City Mayor Kwak Sang-wook stated, "We thank the Osan branch of NH Nonghyup Bank for donating masks and hand sanitizers for pregnant women in the city, and we hope this will help with COVID-19 prevention and healthy childbirth for expectant mothers. We urge everyone to observe prevention guidelines such as wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining social distancing in our daily lives to overcome COVID-19 together."
