Osan City Launches Trial Operation of Wide-Area Bus Route 5200 Between Chungho-dong and Sinnonnhyeon Station

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Osan City will begin trial operation of wide-area bus route 5200, which runs from Chungho in Osan to Sinnonnhyeon Station in Gangnam, starting next month on the 15th.

Route 5200 will operate with a total of 4 buses running 16 times daily at 60-70 minute intervals. The bus departs from Humansia (A) in Chungho-dong→passes through Daewoo Prugio (A), Daewon (A) in Won-dong→Cityzae (A) in Busan-dong→Central Prugio (A) in Osan-dong→Semicho, Sejae (A) in Naesangmi-dong→The Sharp Park City (A) at Seodongtan Station in Waesangmi-dong, and operates to Sinnonnhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul.

To minimize inconvenience for citizens commuting to Seoul, the first bus from Chungho-dong, the starting point, will operate from 5:30 a.m., while the last bus from Sinnonnhyeon Station, the terminal, will operate until 11:50 p.m.

During the trial operation period, the city plans to analyze usage patterns and adjust intermediate stops, and subsequently add 4 more buses to operate a total of 8 buses 36 times daily.

The city expects that the operation of route 5200 will significantly improve transportation convenience for citizens commuting to Seoul from large apartment complexes recently established in Osan.

Osan Mayor Kwak Sang-wook stated, "The introduction of wide-area bus route 5200 will reduce congestion on the existing Gangnam-bound route 5300 and increase satisfaction in transportation underserved areas, thereby enhancing public transportation convenience for citizens."
