Osan City Promotes Free Consulting for Food Establishment Hygiene Rating System
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Osan City is promoting a "free consulting project for food establishment hygiene rating system" to improve food service hygiene standards and create a safe and hygienic dining environment.
Key project details include ▲explanation of the hygiene rating system, application, and evaluation items ▲diagnosis of food establishment hygiene levels and presentation of improvement measures ▲support for evaluation preparation supplies, such as one-on-one on-site consulting by hygiene sector experts.
The program targets general restaurants, casual eateries, and bakeries within Osan City. Businesses with facility standard violations in food service or a history of foodborne illness outbreaks within the past three years are excluded from the program.
Consulting applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested businesses can complete an application form on Osan City's website and submit it to the Agricultural Products and Food Hygiene Division of Osan City by mail or in person.
Establishments designated under the food establishment hygiene rating system receive designation certificates and signboards, hygiene product support, exemption from inspections for two years, and benefits such as financing support for facility improvements.
The food establishment hygiene rating system evaluates 64 items in hygiene-related fields and designates ratings only to superior businesses. Ratings are divided into three levels based on scores: Excellent (★★★), Superior (★★), and Good (★).
