Yeongdeungpo-gu to Conduct CCTV Maintenance Starting June for Illegal Dumping Surveillance
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Yeongdeungpo-gu in Suwon announced on the 30th that it has completed inspections of surveillance cameras (mobile and fixed CCTVs) for monitoring illegal dumping that began in March, and plans to begin maintenance starting in June.
The district conducted inspections over the past three months for efficient operation of 37 surveillance cameras designated for illegal dumping enforcement.
Starting in June, the district plans to implement comprehensive maintenance to enhance functionality. For mobile CCTVs, newly installed units will utilize solar panels to address chronic battery problems. Additionally, all equipment will be equipped with RoLa modules to conveniently check location and battery levels.
Fixed CCTVs will undergo joint inspections with suppliers of illegal dumping surveillance equipment, with damaged units to be removed. Signage that is worn or damaged will be repaired. Furthermore, illegal dumping surveillance cameras will be relocated to areas where they are needed to increase resident awareness of their presence.
Jeong Chul-ho, director of the Daily Life and Safety Division, said, "Through inspections and maintenance, we will make efforts to prevent and detect illegal dumping, which frequently occurs in densely populated residential areas such as villa complexes and one-room accommodations, as well as in commercial districts."
