Osan City Wins Encouragement Award in Gyeonggi Province Low Birth Rate Excellence Policy Competition

[Suwon Ilbo=Seo Dong-young] Osan City has won an award in the Gyeonggi Province Low Birth Rate Excellence Policy Competition for the second consecutive year.

The city announced on the 28th of last month that it received an encouragement award at the competition. Last year, it won the grand prize with "Growing Dreams Together with Osan: Osan Dream for Children."

The competition aimed to discover and disseminate excellent examples of field-focused, customized responses to low birth rates by local governments. A total of 17 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province participated in fierce competition.

The city received high evaluation for its efforts and policy effectiveness in promoting the "Osan Dream for Children: Comprehensive Childcare Policy Package," which integrates "Childcare Town Development" that establishes integrated infant and toddler facilities to meet residents' childcare needs, "365/24-Hour Childcare Service" that provides customized childcare services available 365 days a year around the clock, and "Emergency Support for Sick Children 119" that provides free childcare services from certified caregivers for children infected with contagious diseases.
