[Suwon Ilbo=Seo Dong-young Reporter] Gwonseon-gu, Suwon announced on the 8th that it will operate on a limited basis only senior community centers (heat wave shelters) that wish to open after the 20th of this month depending on COVID-19 developments and heat wave trends.

The district plans to conduct infection prevention education and heat wave shelter usage compliance training over four sessions on the 8th and 9th, targeting the heads of 77 senior community centers among 173 facilities currently closed due to COVID-19, which have requested to open as heat wave shelters.

In accordance with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'COVID-19 Prevention Heat Wave Shelter Operations Guidelines,' all facilities will comply with and operate: checking mask-wearing status and providing hand sanitizer for all entrants ▲designating and managing infection control managers ▲disinfection and ventilation before and after operations ▲maintaining visitor logs (temperature checks) ▲adhering to social distancing guidelines in daily life ▲reporting to health centers when symptoms occur ▲prohibiting meals inside heat wave shelters, etc.

Previously, following the issuance of a heat wave advisory, the district completed disinfection and sanitization by senior community center from the 25th of last month, designated infection control managers, established emergency contact systems (health centers, screening clinics, fire departments, etc.), placed visitor log books with fever checks at entrances, and attached infection prevention posters for advance preparation.
