Gyeonggi Province Provides Staffing Support to Cities and Counties to Prevent and Educate on Illegal Real Estate Transactions

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park No-hun] Gyeonggi Province will operate the '2020 Second Half Gyeonggi Province Real Estate Transaction Order Assistants' starting from the 3rd to establish a fair and transparent real estate transaction order.

The 'Gyeonggi Province Real Estate Transaction Order Assistant' is a temporary worker who assists city and county civil servants, and performs auxiliary duties including prevention and education on false real estate listings and collusive housing prices, investigation of real estate transaction reports, and investigation of real estate speculative projects to actively address 'illegal real estate transaction activities,' a key provincial policy initiative.

Prior to starting the project, the Province selected 8 cities (Suwon, Ansan, Hwaseong, Gwangju, Anseong, Osan, Hanam, and Yeoju) as target regions for the project through a needs survey of 31 cities and counties in the province last year, secured a 2020 project budget of 316 million won, and hired and operated 18 employees in the first half of the year (March to June).

For second half recruitment (August to November) this year, 110 people applied, and 20 employees were hired, including 7 graduates from real estate-related majors. The Province will pay salaries and the Gyeonggi Province Office and 8 cities including Suwon will manage the assistants' workforce utilization and attendance.

Additionally, the Province will conduct additional recruitment for 2 positions that remain unfilled due to hiring cancellations and insufficient applicants. The work locations are Osan City Hall and Yeoju City Hall, and final successful applicants will be announced on the 10th after document review and interviews. Hong Ji-seon, Director of Urban Housing, stated, "We will closely cooperate with the relevant cities to achieve good results from the Gyeonggi Province Real Estate Transaction Order Assistant project," and added, "In the future, we will review project expansion including expansion of supported cities and counties and budget matters to establish a fair and transparent real estate transaction order and contribute to job creation."

Meanwhile, in the first half, the Real Estate Transaction Order Assistants conducted investigations on 11,110 cases of real estate transaction reports and prevention and education on 993 cases of false real estate listings.
