[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] As social distancing measures were elevated to Level 2 due to the spread of COVID-19, Osan City has postponed the "2020 Social Survey" that was scheduled to be conducted from August 21 through September 4.
The city plans to implement the postponed social survey from August 27 to September 10 of next month.
The social survey is a statistical survey conducted annually since 2013 to measure the social conditions of Osan City in quantitative and qualitative aspects and to provide predictions of social changes and policy directions.
Sixteen survey researchers will directly visit target households and conduct surveys through face-to-face interviews. The city will provide education on survey guidelines for accurate on-site survey implementation, and plans to have survey researchers carry identification cards when visiting households and conduct surveys.
Survey researchers will undergo COVID-19 testing in advance, and on the day of the survey, they will complete quarantine measures including health status confirmation, mask wearing, and hand sanitization before participating in the survey.
A city official stated, "We plan to flexibly adjust the schedule according to the COVID-19 situation to conduct safe surveys," and requested, "We ask for active cooperation from households targeted for the survey when survey researchers make visits."
