Ganghwa County Implements Enhanced Measures Stricter Than Social Distancing Level 2

At the meeting, the county reviewed its quarantine system and decided to implement more enhanced quarantine measures.

While the government's Level 3 social distancing is under review, the county is issuing assembly restriction orders for religious facilities such as churches, allowing only non-face-to-face worship and prohibiting face-to-face meetings, events, and dining. Additionally, mask-wearing is mandatory in indoor and outdoor spaces except in unavoidable circumstances such as daily privacy or eating.

All public facilities in the county including public sports facilities, libraries, and community centers, as well as Dongmak and Minmulru beaches, have ceased operations since the 16th, and eating on the beach has been prohibited. Even if beach operations are suspended, quarantine personnel will continue to be stationed at the beaches through the end of this month to strengthen quarantine and safety management to prevent regional spread of COVID-19 and prevent safety accidents.

At the meeting, County Governor Yu Cheon-ho stated that the situation is critical with a nationwide epidemic imminent due to ▲a virus with transmission power increased more than six times ▲a sharp increase in confirmed cases in the densely populated Seoul metropolitan area ▲continued occurrence of confirmed cases in adjacent local governments ▲a loosened sense of vigilance due to prolonged COVID-19.

He also urged public officials to refrain from summer vacation and strictly adhere to quarantine guidelines. He instructed them to strongly implement social distancing in daily life, including urging employees suspected of fever or respiratory illness to refrain from work.

Governor Yu stressed, "Medical and quarantine responses alone have limitations in blocking the spread of infection, so the best way to prevent COVID-19 is for residents to wear masks themselves and strictly follow prevention guidelines" and urged citizens to "actively participate in social distancing."
