Pyeongtaek City Opens Public Recruitment for Fair-Priced Businesses through Next Month 11th
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City is publicly recruiting fair-priced businesses that have contributed to price stabilization through next month 11th.
The fair-priced business support project is an initiative to select businesses that provide friendly service to consumers at affordable prices despite rising prices due to minimum wage increases and other factors.
The program targets individual service businesses including food service and beauty/cosmetics services. Business owners can apply directly, or township, town, and dong chiefs, consumer groups, and others can recommend businesses that have contributed to price stabilization to the city.
Applicants must offer prices that are lower than other businesses. Additionally, businesses are excluded from eligibility if they have received administrative penalties in the past two years, have unpaid local taxes, have not been operating for at least six months after business opening, or are franchise establishments. Model food establishments (sanitary model businesses) receive extra points.
A maximum of five businesses will be recruited, and a joint private-public investigation team will conduct on-site inspection and evaluation based on price, hygiene and cleanliness, service quality, and public interest. The final selected businesses will be decided on September 25th.
Fair-priced businesses selected will receive certification plaques and various incentives (approximately 500,000 won per business annually), including garbage bags. They will also be posted with photos on the city website and the Fair-Priced Business website (www.goodprice.go.kr).
Meanwhile, Pyeongtaek currently has a total of 10 designated and operating fair-priced businesses: 7 food service establishments, 2 beauty/cosmetics establishments, and 1 food and beverage establishment.
