Jangan-gu District, Suwon Installs Unmanned CCTV for Illegal Parking in 3 Areas Including Saeseong Elementary School
[Suwon Ilbo=Seo Dong-young Reporter] Jangan-gu District in Suwon City has installed unmanned CCTV cameras for illegal parking enforcement in three areas including Saeseong Elementary School to protect children and improve illegal parking issues. The enforcement will begin on September 1st.
The installation locations are ▲in front of Saeseong Elementary School ▲in front of Jowon Elementary School ▲in front of Buksuwon Market (63 Pajang-ro). The cameras were installed in May and underwent a three-month guidance period.
The area around Buksuwon Market has a narrow road width relative to vehicle traffic volume, resulting in poor traffic flow. CCTV was installed to address the illegal parking problem in this area.
In particular, the CCTV cameras in front of Saeseong Elementary School and Jowon Elementary School are aimed at preventing illegal parking in school zones, where awareness has recently increased, and ensuring the safety of students on their way to and from school.
Cho Nam-chul, head of the Economic and Transportation Division, stated, "We expect that the operation of the newly installed CCTV will secure citizen safety and improve the illegal parking problem as well," and appealed, "We ask citizens to be mindful of illegal parking and follow traffic rules."
Meanwhile, Jangan-gu is currently operating a total of 45 unmanned CCTV cameras.
