[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City held the "2020 Welfare and Health Case Essay Presentation and Community Welfare Performance Report Session" at City Hall on the 20th.
Approximately 80 participants, including members of community social security councils, social welfare facility workers, and civil servants, attended while observing quarantine guidelines.
The report session featured awards and presentations of outstanding submissions in a case and essay competition that documented the process of sharing and practicing assistance for underprivileged neighbors facing crises.
Additionally, commendations for "Community Welfare Contributors" who helped proactively discover and support welfare blind spots through outreach welfare services were presented, and materials regarding each township and district's promotion of welfare blind spot discovery were shared.
The "2020 Into the World" welfare and health case and essay competition, now in its fourteenth year, received 34 submissions. After screening, a total of 10 were selected as outstanding works.
In the case category, Jo Seon-young from Anjung-eup (Most Outstanding), Lee Ji-yeon from Sinjang 2-dong (Outstanding), Kim Dong-jun from Jung-ang-dong (Outstanding), Lee Jung-hee from Paengseong-eup (Commendable), and Kim Eun-ae from Songbuk-dong (Commendable) received awards. In the essay category, Kim Beom-gyu from Shinpyeong-dong (Most Outstanding), Han Sin-ja from Jisan-dong (Outstanding), Kim Ji-hyun from Oseong-myeon (Outstanding), Lee Myung-suk from Seojeong-dong (Commendable), and Lee Ji-eun from Sinjang 1-dong (Commendable) received awards.
In the Community Welfare Contribution category, nine recipients were honored: civil servants Shin Ye-eun from Poseung-eup, Jung Jun-young from the Social Welfare Division of Songtan Service Center, and Kim Yu-jun from Shinpyeong-dong; citizens Choi Seung-gyu from Anjung-eup, Kim Yu-soon from Poseung-eup, Lee Jung-suk from Jinwi-myeon, Yang Ki-nam from Jisan-dong; and Kim Eun-bong from Pyeongtaek Senior Welfare Center and Kim Myung-suk from Anjung Small-Scale Care Facility.
Mayor Jung Jang-seon of Pyeongtaek said, "I will make efforts to provide customized welfare services to many citizens facing crises due to COVID-19."
