Pyeongtaek City Selected as 'Excellent Organization' in Gyeonggi Province Contract Review Operations Evaluation
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City announced on the 9th that it has been selected as an excellent organization in the 2020 contract review operations evaluation conducted by Gyeonggi Province.
Gyeonggi Province annually selects and commends excellent organizations to discover best practices in contract review among 31 cities and counties in the province and encourage active review activities.
The city was included in Group A, comprising the top 15 cities and counties in this evaluation, received high scores, and will receive both institutional commendation and commendation for meritorious officials.
From January to November this year, the city reviewed 260 construction projects totaling 115.7 billion won and achieved cost savings of 6.6 billion won.
Particularly noteworthy was the establishment of specific application standards for each site regarding revisions to standard estimates that were previously applied uniformly, securing consistent and reasonable review criteria, which was highly evaluated.
Pyeongtaek Mayor Jung Jang-sun said, "This evaluation is the result of efforts to remove wasteful spending factors and pursue efficient administration through accurate and rigorous reviews," and added, "We will continue to make greater efforts to create a dignified international city of Pyeongtaek."
The 'contract review system' is a system for efficient financial management by reviewing the appropriateness of cost calculations, legal application, and design before public institutions initiate projects.
