Kwonseon-gu Wins Minister of National Defense Commendation at 7th Social Service Award

[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Seo Dong-young] Kwonseon-gu in Suwon announced that the ‘Kwonseon-gu Office of Suwon City’ won the top national excellence award (Minister of National Defense Commendation) at the 7th Social Service Award ceremony held on the 11th.

The Military Manpower Administration established the Social Service Award in 2014 to boost morale and pride among social service personnel and improve social awareness. The administration selects exemplary social service personnel and outstanding service institutions and employees annually.

The selection of top and excellent service institutions is conducted by the Military Manpower Administration as follows: it receives recommendations from local military manpower administration offices nationwide and reviews approximately 12,000 social service management institutions across the country based on ▲institutions with high contributions to improving treatment of social service personnel and encouraging faithful service ▲institutions with large numbers of service personnel and low service delinquency rates ▲institutions where the leadership shows high interest.

Kwonseon-gu was selected as one of 67 top-tier institutions in the comprehensive evaluation of the 2019 service institution survey conducted by the Gyeonggi-Incheon Regional Military Manpower Administration on approximately 1,300 institutions in January last year.

Cha Young-kyou, Chief of the District's Life and Safety Division, said, “We are operating various programs including training programs led by department heads, discussion sessions, and mentoring programs for grievance counseling between civil servants and social service personnel to create working conditions where social service personnel can fulfill their duties stably,” and added, “We will continue to make more efforts so that the social service system can have a positive impact on society.”
