Jang'an-gu Conducts On-Site Inspections to Prevent Cluster Infections at Nursing Homes and Care Facilities
[Suwon Ilbo=Correspondent Seo Dong-young] Suwon's Jang'an-gu announced on the 2nd that it will conduct on-site inspections of elderly care facilities and day/night care centers as cluster infections have recently increased at infection-vulnerable facilities such as nursing homes.
The district formed 39 teams to conduct one-on-one inspections of a total of 39 infection-vulnerable facilities. Jang'an-gu Office Chief Lee Beom-sun also personally visits 2 to 3 facilities daily to examine vulnerabilities and conditions, and collects administrative guidance and suggestions.
There are cases where workers at infection-vulnerable facilities continue to come to work despite showing symptoms of illness due to lack of substitute personnel, resulting in cluster infections. To prevent this, the district will establish personnel support measures to ensure that those showing symptoms receive testing and refrain from coming to work for a period, and will take strong administrative measures against those who violate quarantine rules.
Office Chief Lee Beom-sun stated, "We are well aware of the efforts made by workers at elderly medical and welfare facilities amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. However, considering that cluster infections are occurring at care facilities due to facility workers and others, we urge stricter adherence to quarantine rules for the safety of our elderly residents."
