Suwon City Adjusts Public Facility Operation Guidelines Starting the 15th
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City announced on the 15th that it will resume operation of 44 community service centers starting next month, following the government's adjustment of the 'Metropolitan Area Social Distancing' to Level 2.
Accordingly, the city plans to operate in-person programs at community service centers after March, following preparations such as recruiting students and instructors.
Whether to operate in-person programs will be decided by the community center director in consultation with the residents' autonomy (committee) council, students, and instructors, and the number of users will be limited to 30% or less of capacity. Non-face-to-face (online) programs currently being conducted will run in parallel. Programs with a risk of generating droplets or sweat will be operated in a non-face-to-face manner.
As the government adjusted the Metropolitan Area Social Distancing level from Level 2.5 to Level 2 from midnight on the 15th, the quarantine guidelines for public facilities and private multi-use facilities will also change.
The number of users at welfare facilities will be increased to '50% or less of capacity' (30% or less under Level 2.5), and cultural facilities (experiences) such as performance halls, exhibition halls, and educational experience centers may be used up to 30% of capacity.
Public libraries, museums, and art galleries will also limit the number of users while thoroughly complying with quarantine guidelines. Libraries will operate at around 30% of their seating, while museums and art galleries will limit the number of visitors during the same time period to 40 people.
Indoor and outdoor public sports facilities may be used only by Suwon citizens within 30% of user capacity. Indoor sports facilities will suspend operations from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day, and food consumption is prohibited. Facilities will close if a confirmed case or close contact occurs.
For entertainment facilities (entertainment bars, hostess bars, colatecs) and hold'em pubs, the 'gathering ban' measure will be lifted on the condition of compliance with core quarantine rules. The number of users is limited to one person per 8㎡, and 'dancing' and movement between tables and rooms are prohibited. Operations must be suspended from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
Restaurants and cafes, indoor sports facilities, karaoke rooms, door-to-door sales businesses, party rooms, and indoor standing performance halls may operate until 10 p.m.
A city official said, "We will continuously operate the 'Social Distancing Hotline' established with the Suwon Nambu, Jungbu, and Seobu Police Stations to respond swiftly to reports of quarantine rule violations," and requested, "All business establishments should comply with quarantine rules for everyone's safety."
