Pyeongtaek Oseong Public Sewage Treatment Facility Construction Project Completed

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City completed the 'Oseong Public Sewage Treatment Facility Construction Project' for treating domestic sewage in the Oseong-myeon, Anjung-eup, and Cheongbuk-eup areas and held a completion ceremony on the 11th.

The Oseong Public Sewage Treatment Facility completed on this day invested a total project cost of 48.6 billion won (31.8 billion won in national funding, 6.8 billion won in provincial funding, and 10 billion won in city funding) from June 2013 through January of this year to construct a public sewage treatment facility with a daily treatment capacity of 3,000 tons and lay 26.6 km of sewage pipelines.

Additionally, as a civic convenience facility, a parking lot with 110 spaces and restrooms were installed to resolve parking inconveniences for citizens visiting the riverbank of Anseong Stream.

Accordingly, with the completion of the Oseong Public Sewage Treatment Facility, a total of 41 villages including 35 villages such as Suksseong-ri in Oseong-myeon, 4 villages including Daeban-ri in Anjung-eup, and 2 villages including Tojin-ri in Cheongbuk-eup will see improved stream water quality and resolution of residents' living inconveniences.

Mayor Jung Jang-seon stated at the completion ceremony, "With the completion of the Oseong Public Sewage Treatment Facility, we expect improvements in water quality of Anseong Stream and Pyeongtaek Lake, which are the lifelines of Pyeongtaek, and contributions to the improvement of residents' health and sanitation," and added, "Going forward, we will make our best efforts to invest in environmental infrastructure to improve the living environment and quality of life for 540,000 citizens."
