Geoje City Officials Benchmark Suwon's Urban Regeneration Project

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Chung Jun-seong] Officials from the Urban Regeneration Department of Geoje City, Gyeongnam Province visited Suwon City's urban regeneration project sites on April 18-19 for benchmarking.

On April 18, they visited the urban regeneration new deal project site in Yeonmu-dong and the urban regeneration project site in Haenggung-dong. On April 19, they visited the urban regeneration project site near Gyeonggi Provincial Government, the urban regeneration new deal project site in Maesan-dong, and the Suwon Sustainable City Foundation.

Suwon City and Geoje City signed a "Friendly City Sisterhood Agreement" in October last year and pledged active exchange and cooperation.

The two cities agreed to share urban regeneration new deal policies and exchange information on business systems and governance building methods. They have maintained consistent exchange since then.

Meanwhile, Suwon City is promoting urban regeneration new deal projects at five locations: Haenggung-dong (general neighborhood type), areas surrounding Gyeonggi Provincial Government (Gyeonggi Province-type regeneration), Maesan-dong (downtown commercial district type), Seryou 2-dong (public institution participation type, general neighborhood type), and Yeonmu-dong (residential support type + smart city type).
