[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Uiwang City signed a memorandum of understanding on the 26th at the City Hall small conference room between Mayor Kim Sang-don of Uiwang City, National Assemblymember Lee So-young, and President Lee Yong-bae of Hyundai Rotem to support a stop at Uiwang Station on the Metropolitan Area Rapid Transit (GTX)-C Line.
The agreement was established to build consensus among the three organizations and reinforce their commitment to cooperation regarding the necessity of the GTX-C Line stopping at Uiwang Station, and to maximize efficiency in project implementation through mutual cooperation.
The tripartite agreement includes ▲Uiwang City's support for the GTX-C Line stop at Uiwang Station and Hyundai Rotem's support for related project progress ▲Hyundai Rotem's support efforts including promotional and technical assistance for the GTX-C Line to stop at Uiwang Station and support for city development ▲The National Assemblymember's support efforts for the implementation of this agreement.
Additionally, when mutual consultation on detailed matters is necessary for efficient implementation of cooperation items, the city plans to organize and operate a working-level consultation body to establish an effective cooperative work system.
Through this agreement, Uiwang City expects to take a step closer to realizing the GTX-C Line stop at Uiwang Station with strong support from Hyundai Rotem, an advanced railroad research and manufacturing company based in the city.
