Gyeonggi Province Selects 23 Organizations for 'Social Welfare Fund Grants' Including Gwanggyo Senior Welfare Center

[Suwon Ilbo=Park No-hun Reporter] Gyeonggi Province has selected 23 institutions and organizations as final recipients of support for the 'Social Welfare Fund (Elderly Welfare Support Project) Grants.'

The Social Welfare Fund (Elderly Welfare Support Project) grants program is an initiative that the province has been pursuing since 2016 to discover autonomous, creative, and sustainable projects that can contribute to the welfare improvement of seniors.

A total of 56 institutions and organizations participated in this competition, and 23 institutions and organizations were selected across three categories through deliberation. By category: ▲General competition (Elderly Welfare Support Project) with 12 institutions and organizations including Ansan Healthcare and Welfare Social Cooperative ▲Existing non-face-to-face excellent program competition with 5 institutions including Yongin Cheoin Senior Welfare Center ▲Discovery and support for new non-face-to-face excellent programs with 6 institutions including Gwanggyo Senior Welfare Center.

The total support budget is 200 million won. Selected organizations will receive subsidies of up to 20 million won per project.

Jo Tae-hun, Director of the Elderly Welfare Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "Through this Social Welfare Fund (Elderly Welfare Support Project) grants program, we hope to discover various elderly welfare support projects and implement excellent non-face-to-face programs suited to COVID-19."
