Gyeonggi Province Selects 6 Additional Apartment Complexes for Remodeling Consulting Pilot Project

[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Park No-hoon] The 'Gyeonggi Province Apartment Complex Remodeling Consulting Pilot Project,' which supports consulting costs to enable residents of aged apartment complexes to determine whether to pursue remodeling in the early stages of projects, will be conducted at 8 complexes including Gimpo Bukbyeon Sanho Apartment.

Gyeonggi Province announced in March that Anyang Chowon Buyoung Apartment and one other complex were selected for the 'Apartment Complex Remodeling Consulting Pilot Project,' but based on high demand with 111 complexes participating in the public recruitment, the province announced on the 6th that it had added 6 more complexes.

The pilot project was pursued in connection with the activation of apartment complex remodeling, a campaign promise of Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, amid an increase in apartment complexes considering remodeling as aging of apartment complexes accelerates, including first-phase new towns.

Public recruitment was conducted targeting apartment complexes that are at least 15 years past completion, have not received remodeling union approval, and have at least 10% of owners consenting to the public recruitment application. The province supports half of the consulting service costs for proposing remodeling plans suited to the field conditions of selected complexes, analyzing project feasibility, and calculating unit-by-unit contribution amounts.

Selected complexes include, in addition to existing ▲Goyang Munchon Village 16-dong Newsamsik Apartment (956 units·completed 1994) ▲Anyang Chowon Buyoung Apartment (1,743 units·completed 1992), ▲Gunpo Chungmu Jugong 2-dan (476 units·completed 1993) ▲Uiwang Magnolia Poongrim Apartment (354 units·completed 1994) ▲Seongnam Jeongdeun Village Hanjin 7-dan (382 units·completed 1994) ▲Bucheon Samsik Ceramic Apartment (781 units·completed 1989) ▲Yongin Dongseong 1st Apartment (684 units·completed 1997) ▲Gimpo Bukbyeon Sanho Apartment (909 units·completed 1995), for a total of 8 locations.

The province scored based on remodeling project efficiency, residents' will, and city and county support will in the existing selection, and in this additional selection, it ensured that cities and counties did not overlap in order of runners-up from the previous selection.

Lee Jong-gu, head of the Urban Regeneration Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "More complexes than expected desired consulting support, and we confirmed significant interest in the pilot project through additional project inquiries," adding, "Through the additional selection, we will conduct consulting service projects for complexes with diverse circumstances and secure more cases that similar complexes can reference in the future."
