Yongin City Conducts Sanitation Inspections at Two Zoos Ahead of Summer Vacation Season
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park No-hoon] Yongin City announced on the 3rd that it will inspect sanitation conditions at two zoos within the city as the summer vacation season approaches.
The inspection is aimed at ensuring the safety of families visiting during the summer vacation season by verifying compliance with sanitation guidelines under Level 4 social distancing measures in the Seoul Metropolitan Area.
The city visited Everland in Pogok-eup, Choin-gu on the 3rd to inspect the site, and will conduct an inspection of Haizhou, an indoor zoo located inside AK Plaza in Gugal-dong, Giheung-gu on the 4th.
The city plans to focus on checking whether staff and visitors are adhering to sanitation guidelines and will carefully examine the disinfection status of both the interior and exterior of animal enclosures.
A city official stated, "We will conduct thorough inspections so that families can visit zoos with peace of mind," and urged citizens visiting zoos during the summer vacation season to "strictly comply with sanitation guidelines."
Meanwhile, on January 1st, the 'Gyeonggi Province Administrative Delegation Ordinance' was amended, transferring administrative matters related to zoos from the province to the city.
