Osan City Completes 'Picture Book Ecological Experience Guide Training Program Featuring Otters'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Osan City announced on the 22nd that it held a completion ceremony for the 'Picture Book Ecological Experience Guide Training Program Featuring Otters' at the Osan Lifelong Learning Center.

This program is part of the 'Osan Workshop' initiative, which operates through collaboration between the Lifelong Education Division, relevant institutions, and departments in connection with Osan City's policy projects. It is a community-linked lifelong learning program in which knowledge is returned to the local community.

The program was conducted as real-time non-face-to-face video instruction, targeting 30 Osan citizens aged 20-39 who are interested in otters and natural ecological experience activities, taking into account the spread of COVID-19.

The program was established with the goal of fostering talent by learning professional knowledge necessary for natural ecological experience activities, planning various natural ecological experience learning programs, and conducting experiential learning using picture books.

Selected participants took courses on ▲understanding of ecological environments ▲picture books themed on otters ▲ecological experience program planning. Subsequently, through qualification exams, they will obtain the 'Picture Book Ecological Experience Guide' certificate.

An official from Osan City stated, "We hope this lecture will provide an opportunity for citizens to take greater interest in otters and the ecology of the Osan Stream," and added, "We will continue to pursue projects that can foster citizen activists needed by the local community."
