Gyeonggi Province Relocates Southern Gyeonggi Single-Parent Family Support Hub to Suwon

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park No-hoon] Gyeonggi Province announced on the 6th that it has relocated the 'Southern Gyeonggi Single-Parent Family Support Hub,' which provides comprehensive customized services including childcare and employment support to single-parent families in the province, from Yeoju City to Suwon City.

Following the expiration of its contract with Yeoju University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, the existing operating organization, the Province selected the Suwon Family Support Center (Social Organization) as the new operating organization this year and relocated the 'Southern Gyeonggi Single-Parent Family Support Hub' to the Suwon Family Support Center (located in Paldal-gu, Suwon City).

Since 2019, the Province has been operating the 'Gyeonggi Province Single-Parent Family Support Hub' in two divisions—Southern Gyeonggi and Northern Gyeonggi (Guri City Healthy Family Support Center)—in accordance with the 'Gyeonggi Province Single-Parent Family Support Ordinance.'

Southern Gyeonggi provides related services to single-parent families in 21 cities and counties, including Suwon City.

The main functions of the hub are ▲Building networks among single-parent family welfare facilities and related organizations ▲Providing counseling, information, and referral services for single-parent families ▲Supporting capacity enhancement for single-parent families through parental education and self-help group activation ▲Operating social awareness improvement programs such as single-parent family participation events.

Last year, the two hub locations achieved results including 20 business agreements with related organizations and groups, counseling and information services for 67 individuals, parental education for 128 people, counseling referrals for 243 people, and self-help group services for 240 people.
