[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Uiwang City held an opening ceremony for the 'Uiwang Senior Employment Support Center' on the 11th at the Cheonggyei-dong site.
The Senior Employment Support Center that opened that day was constructed after demolishing the existing building in January of last year. Built on a 1,069㎡ site with a basement level and three above-ground floors totaling 1,944㎡, the center was completed last month.
The first floor houses the Cheonggyei 5-tong Senior Center and a Disability Family Support Center, serving as welfare spaces for seniors and disabled persons. The second floor features 'Brilliant Table,' which produces lunch boxes for malnourished children in the city and provides group meals to relevant organizations, leveraging seniors' culinary skills, as well as 'Brilliant Snack,' a dessert preparation facility. The floor also includes a lounge, shower facilities, and laundry facilities for participant convenience. The third floor is equipped with offices, counseling rooms, and educational facilities for the Senior Club.
Meanwhile, coinciding with the opening ceremony, the Cheonggyei 5-tong Senior Center also held its inaugural ceremony, becoming a comfortable rest area and warm refuge for seniors in the community.
Mayor Kim Sang-don of Uiwang City stated, "I am truly pleased that a new Senior Employment Support Center, which is essential for seniors' happy and vibrant retirement, has been established." He added, "Going forward, I will continue to provide keen interest and support so that the Senior Employment Support Center can play a central role as a dedicated agency for senior employment."
