Kim Dong-yeon: "I hope low-income Gyeonggi residents will benefit"...Donation of 1 million masks delivered

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park Nohun] One million masks donated by mask manufacturer SB Global Healthcare will be delivered to low-income residents in Gyeonggi Province.

The province held a delivery ceremony on the 20th at the provincial government office under the auspices of the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea, attended by Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon, Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea Chairman Lee Soon-sun, SB Global Healthcare Chairman Lee Sang-bong and Representative Lee Seung-hyun, and Haman City Food Bank Executive Director Kim Mi-sun.

SB Global Healthcare is a mask manufacturer based in Yangju City. The 1 million masks donated for low-income residents in the province on this day are worth approximately 630 million won.

The masks deposited with the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea will be distributed through food banks and markets in the province to people in difficult living situations, including the near-poor, elderly living alone, and those in urgent financial crisis.

At the ceremony, Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea Chairman Lee Soon-sun appointed Governor Kim Dong-yeon as honorary chairman of the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea and presented the Fruit of Love.

SB Global Healthcare Chairman Lee Sang-bong said, "We are pleased that our company can be a bridgehead for sharing warmth," and "We hope this will be helpful to low-income underprivileged people at a time when masks are essential items in daily life due to COVID-19."

Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea Chairman Lee Soon-sun said, "We appreciate Governor Kim Dong-yeon for accepting the position of honorary chairman, and the governor's warm encouragement and activities as honorary chairman will serve as a noble example of practicing love for neighbors among the social leadership."

Governor Kim Dong-yeon said, "Volunteering and donation are addictive—those who haven't tried it don't know. At first it can be self-satisfaction, but this addiction spreads not only to oneself but also to those around you," and added, "Thank you for making this good donation today. I hope that difficult residents of Gyeonggi Province will benefit from it so that the purpose of the donation is well served."
