Hwaseong City Establishes Sister City Partnership with Namwon City, North Jeolla Province

[Suwon Ilbo=Choi Ki-ho] Hwaseong City has established a sister city partnership with Namwon City in North Jeolla Province for mutual and sustainable development.

Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun visited Namwon City on the 26th along with Hwaseong City Council Speaker Kim Gyeong-hui, where they met with Namwon Mayor Choi Gyeong-sik and Namwon City Council Speaker Jeon Pyeong-gi to hold an agreement ceremony.

Under the agreement, the two cities have pledged to pursue mutual development through exchange of human and material resources and cooperation projects.

Meanwhile, Hwaseong City will attend the opening ceremony of the 93rd Chunhyang Festival, Namwon City's flagship festival, as a sister city.

Namwon Mayor Choi Gyeong-sik said, "Since Namwon City and Hwaseong City have become one family, I hope we will be a great source of strength for each other," and expressed hopes that "through various projects in the future, a sustainable relationship will unfold."

Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun said, "I hope an unchanging relationship will continue, just like the love between Chunhyang and Mongryong," and added, "If the young and dynamic Hwaseong City and Namwon City, rich in cultural resources, work together, we will be able to develop by complementing each other's shortcomings."
