Rep. Kim Seung-won Secures 2.15 Billion Won in Gyeonggi Special Subsidies for 2023

[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Park No-hun] Rep. Kim Seung-won (Democratic Party of Korea, Suwon City District A) has secured 2.15 billion won in budgets for five regional projects through the 2023 Gyeonggi Special Adjustment Subsidy.

According to Rep. Kim Seung-won's office on the 3rd, the budget secured this time includes ▲500 million won for canopy maintenance of the Gyeongsu Daero underground pedestrian and bicycle path ▲500 million won for sidewalk maintenance in Cheoncheon District ▲500 million won for drainage maintenance project at Jeongja Park ▲350 million won for entrance staircase maintenance of Buffer Green Space No. 286 ▲300 million won for Daepyeong Children's Park remodeling, and the five projects are focused on strengthening safety for local residents.

First, with the budget secured for "Gyeongsu Daero underground pedestrian and bicycle path canopy maintenance," it will now be possible to conduct repairs on deteriorated interior finishing materials and canopy of the underground pedestrian and bicycle path in the Pajang, Samik, Suil, Younghwa, and Changryongmun areas along Route 1.

In addition, the "Cheoncheon District sidewalk maintenance project" budget will enable the renovation of deteriorated sidewalks and bicycle roads in the Cheoncheon District area of Jeongja-dong, and the "Buffer Green Space No. 286 entrance staircase maintenance" will allow the refurbishment of the wooden deck stairs, canopy, and railings connecting Suwon Hanil Town Apartments and the bus stop.

Furthermore, with the budget secured for "Daepyeong Children's Park remodeling," children's play spaces in Jeongja 3-dong will be upgraded with modern facilities.

Previously, Rep. Kim secured 6.954 billion won in budgets for ten projects through the second half of 2022 Gyeonggi Special Adjustment Subsidy.

Rep. Kim Seung-won said, "Despite the challenging budget situation compared to last year, through close consultations with Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon and other efforts, we have been able to secure a considerable portion of the budget to strengthen safety for Jang'an-gu residents," and added, "Going forward, I will make every possible effort, including budget securing, so that Jang'an-gu can create an increasingly safer environment."

Meanwhile, the projects for which Rep. Kim secured budgets through the Gyeonggi Special Adjustment Subsidy last year include ▲1.5 billion won for the creation of an all-weather tennis court at Manseok Park ▲800 million won for facility maintenance including water features at Jeongja Park ▲800 million won for Suwon Stream stone wall maintenance ▲800 million won for Byeol Children's Park remodeling ▲700 million won for street environment creation in Songwon-ro timepiece section ▲694 million won for new construction of Younghwa-dong East Senior Community Center ▲600 million won for Suseong-ro road environment maintenance ▲500 million won for waterfront promenade maintenance at Gwanggyo Reservoir ▲444 million won for new installation and performance improvement of crime prevention CCTV in crime-vulnerable areas such as Jowon-dong and Yeonmu-dong ▲120 million won for bridge repairs at Cheongsol Bridge and one other site.

The Gyeonggi Special Adjustment Subsidy distribution occurred for the first time this year and was not distributed in the first half of the year.
