Uiwang Mayor Kim Sung-je Receives 2nd Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Public Service Award

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Choong-young] Uiwang Mayor Kim Sung-je received the Grand Prize in the local government chief category at the ‘2nd Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Legislative and Administrative Awards Ceremony’ held at the National Assembly Building on the 2nd.

The Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Legislative and Administrative Award, honoring the civic-minded spirit of the late scholar Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, was held successfully under the sponsorship of National Assembly Member Kim Sung-won and Seohyun Ilbo Co., Ltd.

Mayor Kim Sung-je was recognized for implementing citizen-centered administration that enhances citizens' quality of life by pursuing various projects that directly benefit residents.

Specifically, in the senior welfare sector, he has been implementing the ‘Free Bus Ride Support Program for Seniors’ to guarantee mobility rights for the elderly and the ‘Senior Health Living Plus Program’ that provides point allowances of 100,000 won monthly to seniors aged 80 and above, receiving strong support from seniors.

In the education sector, he established the ‘Uiwang Career and Academic Counseling Center’ to provide professional consulting on career and academic advancement issues, which are the greatest concerns for parents and students, thereby increasing satisfaction among parents and students.

Additionally, the yellow ochre walking trail recently created in the Poil Forest Park has been beneficial to citizens' health, and the city plans to continuously expand walking spaces throughout the city so that residents can comfortably rest and enjoy nature.
