Suwon Selected as Outstanding Organization in 'Proactive Administration Citizens' Application System' for 2 Consecutive Years

Suwon has been selected as an outstanding organization in the '2023 Proactive Administration Citizens' Application System' by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission and received a certificate from the commission's chairman. The awards ceremony was held on the 21st at the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission in the Government Complex Sejong.

Suwon, which was also selected as an outstanding organization last year, achieved the distinction of being 'selected as an outstanding organization for two consecutive years.'

The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission selected outstanding organizations by evaluating △whether citizens' applications submitted in accordance with the commission's recommendations were actively implemented △major achievements △and ripple effects.

The Proactive Administration Citizens' Application System is a system in which citizens use the proactive administration system to request civil servants to "resolve problems caused by unclear laws and regulations." Applications are submitted through the 'Citizens' Petition Service,' and if the results of passive administration complaints are unsatisfactory, a request for reconsideration can be made.

Application targets must meet all three of the following conditions: △matters aimed at achieving public interest purposes △matters that were rejected after being submitted to other complaint or suggestion channels △matters for which a citizen received notice of complaint rejection or proposal non-adoption citing the absence or unclear nature of laws and regulations.

Suwon City is promoting the system to citizens by posting promotional materials for the 'Proactive Administration Citizens' Application System' on its website (http://www.suwon.go.kr) 'Information Disclosure and Open→Proactive Administration Notice' bulletin board. Additionally, the city established and implemented the '2023 Proactive Administration Action Plan,' which includes 'Operation of the Proactive Administration Citizens' Application System.'

A Suwon City official stated, "Through the operation of the Proactive Administration Citizens' Application System, we will implement proactive administration that citizens can experience in their daily lives," and added, "We will make active efforts to protect citizens' rights and interests."
