Mayor Kim Sung-je of Uiwang Wins Leadership Management Award at 'Korea Creative Management 2024'
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Chung-young] Mayor Kim Sung-je of Uiwang received the honor of winning the Leadership Management award at the 'Korea Creative Management 2024' awards ceremony held at The Plaza Hotel on the 12th.
'Korea Creative Management 2024' is an awards program by the Joongang Ilbo that intensively evaluates executives' leadership and philosophy, social contribution activities for sustainable growth, and selects and honors recipients based on assessments of brand spirit, competitiveness, growth potential, and recognition.
Mayor Kim was recognized for his achievements during his terms as mayor of Uiwang during the 5th, 6th, and 8th popular election periods, successfully promoting large-scale urban development projects including Baegun Valley, Jangan District, Poil District, and industrial complexes through strong executive power and leadership.
He also made significant contributions to enhancing Uiwang's educational competitiveness through groundbreaking investment in education, including improving aging school facilities, supporting specialized and gifted programs, and establishing dormitories at four general high schools in the city.
Recently, he has been implementing various new projects closely related to citizens' lives, including the Uiwang Career and Academic Counseling Center, Youth Smart Health Management Program, free bus rides for seniors, Senior Health and Wellness Plus Program, and postpartum care and maternal health manager support, thereby improving residents' quality of life.
In his acceptance remarks, Mayor Kim Sung-je said, "Going forward, I will successfully complete large-scale urban development projects currently underway, including Gocheon District, Chopyeong District, Woram District, Cheonggye 2nd District, and the Uiwang-Gunpo-Ansan 3rd New City, and will develop Uiwang into the most livable city in the nation in all areas including education, welfare, transportation, and culture and arts."
