[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Chung-young] Uiwang City held an opening ceremony on the 25th for the 'Chopyeong Elif Together Care Center,' an after-school elementary care facility located within the Elif Uiwang Station apartment complex in Chopyeong-dong.
The opening ceremony was attended by approximately 50 people, including Uiwang Mayor Kim Sung-je, city council members, heads of social organizations in Bukok-dong, officials from Elif Uiwang Station apartments, staff from local care centers, and residents.
The Chopyeong Elif Together Care Center will be operated by the 'Gaetddoongi Nae Community Childcare Social Cooperative' under commission for five years. Under the guidance of care teachers qualified in elementary childcare, children will receive various programs including play and homework assistance in a safe environment.
The Elif Uiwang Station apartment complex, where the newly opened Chopyeong Elif Together Care Center is located, is a newlywed hope town apartment where young generations expecting babies or with young children predominantly reside, making it an area with high demand for after-school elementary care. The city expects that the opening of this together care center will alleviate some inconvenience experienced by students and parents who were unable to use after-school care classes at nearby elementary schools.
Meanwhile, the city has installed a total of six care centers during the 8th popular election term, establishing centers evenly across all six districts of Uiwang City, and plans to add one more facility next year and four additional facilities by 2027.
Uiwang Mayor Kim Sung-je said, "As a result of actively promoting the elementary childcare project, a total of 11 centers in Uiwang City will be established, including the newly opened Chopyeong Elif care center," and added, "We will do our best to provide high-quality childcare services so that our children can grow up healthily in a safe environment."
