Uiwang City Conducts Mutual Exchange of Officials with Sister City Xianning, China

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Chung-young] Uiwang City announced on the 3rd that it will conduct mutual exchanges of officials with its sister city Xianning in Hubei Province, China.

Two officials have been dispatched to Uiwang City: Kan Xi (39, male), Director of the State-owned Assets Management Committee of Xianning City, and Zhou Xiaoshan (36, male), Director of the Emergency Management Bureau Office.

After completing the K2H program conducted by the Council of Governors of Korean Cities and Provinces, they will work in Uiwang City for six months until October.

They plan to adapt to life in Korea through Korean language classes and cultural experiences, and will support local administrative training and international exchange work through Chinese language classes for Uiwang City staff and rotating assignments in key departments.

Meanwhile, Kim In-su, an official from Uiwang City (Grade 7 Administrative Officer), was dispatched to Xianning City, China on the 16th of last month and is scheduled to serve as a bridge for enhancing exchanges and cooperation between the sister cities for one year.

Mayor Kim Sung-je of Uiwang City said, "I believe that the exchange officials from both countries will become a stepping stone for mutual development and strengthened cooperation based on diverse cultures and administrative experiences," and added, "Going forward, we will continue to promote exchanges to enhance friendship and mutual development between the two cities."
