Uiwang City Holds Resolution Rally on "Stop Abuse of Power, Go Integrity!"

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Chung-young] Uiwang City held a 'Resolution Rally for Eradicating Integrity Violations and Abuse of Power' on the 4th at the city hall main conference room, attended by approximately 50 senior civil officials including Mayor Kim Sung-je, the Vice Mayor, and department heads.

At the rally, participants read a resolution pledging commitment to fulfilling integrity obligations as public officials and preventing abuse of power, followed by signing commitment statements.

The resolution contained measures to eradicate abuse of power both internally and externally and foster a culture of integrity, including △prohibition of misuse of authority based on position △prohibition of accepting money or entertainment related to duties △prohibition of unjust orders △achieving a culture of mutual respect.

Meanwhile, the city plans to continuously pursue various initiatives to achieve a fair and transparent organizational culture, including mock corruption reporting drills, education on preventing abuse of power, and the 'Grateful Hearts' campaign.

Mayor Kim Sung-je of Uiwang City said, "Public officials must prioritize integrity as the top value even when handling minor tasks," and "Abuse of power is a risk factor that leads to corruption and must be eradicated to achieve a culture of integrity in our organization."
